This organic Outdoor Body Spray is 100% natural with no synthetic chemicals so it’s completely safe and suitable to use for infants. What’s in it?

Organic Neem Leaf Extract

This incredible oil has been used throughout India for thousands of years. It has antiseptic, antiviral, antifungal, insecticidal and antibacterial properties. It has a low SPF and can be used as a mild sunscreen (however we recommend use of a proper organic SPF 30 sunscreen for babies), and its insecticidal properties make it a great insect repellent. It has many beneficial uses, it’s also excellent in antidandruff treatment and helps relieve scalp irritations and itching.

Organic Witch Hazel Extract

Is a mild natural astringent, it reduces skin inflammation, the pain of stings, dandruff, bruises and swelling. It is wonderful as a skin freshener, local anesthetic and has skin cooling and soothing properties.

Natural Vitamin E Oil

We use this in a lot of our products. It helps normal red blood cells, muscles and other body tissues to grow and remain healthy. It is an anti-oxidant and reduces the cells’ and heart’s need for oxygen. It stimulates the immune system, helps block lipid peroxidation in cells and tissues, and can alleviate allergic reactions and help heal scar tissue. We also use it extensively as it acts as a natural preservative and prevents formulas from becoming rancid.

Organic Geranium Essential Oil

Like virtually all of the flower oils, Geranium is anti-depressant and anti-septic. It promotes speedy healing, and can balance the production of sebum in your skin. It has a delightful perfume, and is a very useful insect repellent. Ancient civilisations regarded Geranium as a very powerful healer, and we do too, it can be used both as a stimulant or a sedative depending on other oils it is blended with and has a gorgeous floral scent.

Organic Citronella Essential Oil

The most widespread use of this oil is as an insect repellent. It has a clean and powerful lemony scent, avoid if pregnant.

Organic Lemongrass Essential Oil

This oil has a long history of use in Indian medicine against infectious illnesses and fevers. It is a powerful antiseptic and bactericide. Like most lemon scented oils it is an excellent insect repellent and this is why we have used it. It is also excellent to keep fleas and ticks away from dogs!

Organic Eucalyptus Essential Oil

There are hundreds of varieties of eucalyptus oil and we choose only to use Eucalyptus Radiata which is quite safe for use on babies. It has a pleasant aroma and will rarely irritate the skin. This oil has many healing properties and has been used in epidemics and infectious illnesses for thousands of years. However we use it particularly for its effective insect repelling properties. It actually even deters mosquitoes from breeding so is very useful in many ways for this purpose.

Organic Peppermint Essential Oil

This is a valuable oil for many purposes and is an effective painkiller, it also helps to control the bacteria on the surface of the skin. It blends well with many oils, especially Lavender and like Spearmint it has a cooling effect. Most insects dislike the strong odour of peppermint so it is a useful deterrent. It has actually been known to kill both the mosquito and the lavae as well.

Organic Basil Leaf Oil

All our research and studies show that Basil oil is actually extremely effective in repelling insects. It can be toxic if used incorrectly so we have added it in very small doses, but it is simply a 'must have' in any insect repellant.

How to use it

We recommend using this product on infants from around 6 months. The trick behind organic insect repellents is to use liberally and often. Spray directly onto all exposed skin but try to avoid baby’s hands and face. You can even spray a light amount to baby’s hair and lightly on clothes for extra protection. Reapply every hour if necessary.

How does it smell?

We understand the scent of a product is very important, and although synthetic fragrances may smell good, they are not good for baby’s delicate skin. We like to use organic plant based fragrances in the form of essential oils safe for use on babies. This organic outdoor body spray has been specifically formulated to assist in repelling insects, so we did not particularly worry about the attractiveness of the scent. In saying that, it is remarkable how many people comment on how much they really like the scent of this product. It is very rich in essential oils and gives off a delightfully fresh and citrusy aroma which is actually quite pleasant to most people, not pleasant for mozzies!
